I never knew Midge very well, and yet I'll always remember the time I spend twirling around her living room in her wedding dress...
I was staying at the Kras for shabbat -- many years ago, when I was about 20, long before I was married. Everyone went to shul, but Midge and I stayed behind. I can't remember the details, but one thing led to another, and next thing I knew, I was standing in front of a mirror admiring myself (and being admired!) in Midge's wedding dress. We didn't really know each other well (I was her future daughter-in-law's best friend), but there was some connection between us that made the trying on of a special wedding dress somehow make sense! What a special, kind, and loving woman!
